Heavy Duty ATV LED Light Kit
Introducing our 100 LED Heavy Duty ATV LED Light Kit. Built on our HEAVY DUTY Hi-Performance Motorsports LED strips, these pvc encased strips have more LEDs per inch than comparable strips on the market today. More LEDs means more light shining on your ATV! Built with two ounce copper PCB encased in rubber, the brightest 5050 LEDs available and 1.2mm of genuine 3M® VHB double sided tape, these LED strips are made tough for motor sports applications. Impressively bright, our Heavy Duty LED strips are built tough. They can be mounted in the fender wells or other exposed areas without fear of damage. And best of all, they produce a smooth, even glow of light. This 100 LED kit will light the fender wells, grill area and underside of your ATV. Available in multi-color and single color configurations. The default configuration is set at RGB because it is the most popular but you can adjust the LED color selection using the drop down product options on this page for the other color options.

While most companies sell the same lights used on street bikes and cars for their off-road vehicle lighting applications, Boogey Lights® is different. Truth is, ATVs, SXSs and similiar Off-Road vehicles are subjected to far greater forces than street vehicles. The LED accent lights used on off-road vehicles - particularly those used in wheel wells and underneath the vehicle take a beating. That's why the core of our Off-Road led lighting kits are based on our HEAVY DUTY LED strips. These Heavy Duty LED strips are unique in the industry. Boogey Lights® HEAVY DUTY LED STRIPS are designed to be used in tough, outdoor and commercial applications where the lighting strip might be subject to direct impact or submersed in water. The flexible PVC provides an extra, dual layer of protection above and beyond our already tough LED surface mounted light strips. They are ideal for off-road machines, ATVs and side-by-sides. They're also ideal for applications where the LEDs will be submerged in water. These strips can be twisted, submerged and even hit with a hammer. Plus, in addition to being mounted using the included 3M® VHB tape, the strips can also be screwed or wire tied to the mounting surface adding an extra layer of security.
Tougher and Brighter
Each Heavy Duty LED Strip contains between 15 and 75 (depending upon length) high-intensity super-bright 5050 tri-chip LEDs. No other Heavy Duty LED strip on the market today has more LEDs per foot than Boogey Lights®. The PCB is black, created with 2 ounce copper and encased in industrial grade PVC with 1.2mm of 3M® VHB tape affixed to the back. Additionally, the end caps have a screw hole allowing these strips to be screwed to the mounting surface for additional holding power. We are not aware of any other product on the market today that matches these specifications for toughness and brightness. The fully encased, flexible design allows these strips to flex so they can be mounted on a curved surface. The flexible PVC also protects the LEDs from a direct hit (e.g. rock, hammer, etc) as well as allows them to be submersed in water. Boogey Lights® Heavy Duty LED strips are available in five lengths and because these Heavy Duty LED Strips are an exact color match to our popular motorsports LED strips and PODs, they can be mixed and matched with any of our lights or controllers to fit virtually any Off-Road vehicle application.
Color Options
This light kit is offered in seven single color options and in two multi-color configurations: RGB and RGBA (RGB + Amber).
For the multi-color options, you can use the GEN2 LED Controller wireless RF remote to turn the LEDs on/off as well as dim, flash, strobe and breath (and change the speed at which those features work). With the bluetooth APP, you can perform these same functions as well as save presets. With the included RF wireless M7 remote you can change between 7 pre-set colors (Red, Green, Blue, White, Light Blue, Lime Green/Yellow, Hot Pink/Purple) and functions of on/off, blending, strobing, breathing, flashing, fading and dimming. You can also use your Bluetooth enabled smart phone to create a custom look. The Bluetooth APP allows you to program the RGB diodes of any of our RGB and RGBA strips with over 16 million different color combinations plus three pre-sets. Also, the Bluetooth APP offers 2 and 3 color rotation programming along with two timer features. Click the BLUETOOTH APP navigation tab on this product page for significantly more information on both the Bluetooth capabilities and APP functionality (including a video showing how the Bluetooth APP works)
For the single color options we offer seven different color options: Red, Green, Blue, White, Orange, Amber and Pink. There are three different single color switching options: RF Wireless On/Off, Toggle Switch On/Off or Supply Your Own switch.
RGBA: On the RGBA led strip, in addition to RGB, you get one extra diode which is AMBER. That fourth diode on the RGBA led strip can be wired directly to our GEN2 LED Controller which supports RGBx LEDs. As an option, you could also wire that fourth diode to a completely separate on/off switch. Your choice. You could also use the Quick-Switch feature with this fourth diode too.
Why can't RGB LED lights create the color orange?
RGB leds have three color DIODES: RED, GREEN and BLUE. It's the mixing of these three colors together that create other colors.
The color ORANGE is created by mixing RED + YELLOW.
The color YELLOW is created by mixing RED + GREEN.
With an RGB LED, there is only one RED diode so it can only be used once.
So what's the solution? Well, to get something that looks more like orange to the human eye using RGB LEDs you need to mix equal amounts of RED + GREEN (actually just a bit less green since the human eye is more sensitive to green wavelengths). This will give you the color YELLOW. Then, increase the intensity of the RED just a little (or, pull back the green). This will essentially add a little red to the yellow to effectively mix a color that has an orange tint. It's not perfect but it's as close as you can get to the color orange using RGB led lights.
If your application absolutely requires the color ORANGE, you can order just ORANGE (or AMBER) LED strips. They're single color of course so you can't adjust the color.
One Option to Consider: For those who want to create a nice deep orange color and still have the option to display up to 16 million colors using RGB LEDs, we offer an RGBA LED product where the 'A' = Amber. The RGBA led strip includes our core RGB tri-chip technology using a 5050 RGB LED with the addition of a fourth 2835 diode that is AMBER. When AMBER is mixed with RED, you get a very pleasant orange color which is what many people want. This RGBA product is unique to BOOGEY LIGHTS® and is available in both our LOW PROFILE LED and HEAVY DUTY LED strip formats.
What is RGB + AMBER (RGBA)?
RGBA is a new LED strip format Boogey Lights® developed. It is available in both our Low Profile and Heavy Duty LED strip formats. The RGBA led strip includes our core RGB tri-chip technology using a 5050 RGB LED with the addition of a fourth 2835 diode that is AMBER. Designed primarily for motor vehicle applications, that fourth AMBER diode can be wired to a separate switch on the dash (or tied into a relay to work with existing running lights) that allows you to quickly and easily turn on just the AMBER leds. Then, for those who want the flexibility to be able to display up to 16 million color combinations using the RGB tri-chip, they can do that too. RGB + A provides the best of both worlds. Single color amber plus RGB tri-chip multi-color. The product photo carousel of this product page includes a close-up view of the LED strip design and wiring diagram. Note that due to the addition of that fourth diode, the RGBA strips are a little wider than our standard tri-chip RGB and single color LED strips. Also, the power lead wires use five conductor vs four. For additional information including product specs, click the SPECS navigation tab on this product page.
Controller Configuration Options
This product offers five different Controller Configuration switching options. Below is a review of each option.
No Switch Mechanism. Provide Your Own.: This option is available on all single color selections. It's not an option for the RGB or RGBA color options. Select this option if you have your own switching mechanism. NOTE: We strongly suggest using a relay. These lights are bright and as such, pull more amperage than a typical LED light (see specs tab for details).
Toggle Switch On/Off with relay (hard wired): This option is available for any single color selection. It's a simple on/off toggle switch with relay.
Single Color Wireless On/Off with relay: This option is available for any single color selection. It's a simple on/off wireless switch with relay. Includes two RF keyfobs with a simple on and off button. See photo in product photo carousel.
Multi-Color RGB: For RGB LEDs, we offer two LED controller options. One has a maximum capacity of 300 LEDs the other has a capacity of 900 LEDs. If you select RGB for your LED Color Option, the 300 capacity version is the default. Both are our GEN2 Combo RF + Bluetooth Wireless LED controllers. They can be operated using the included RF wireless remote or your bluetooth enabled smartphone and our free APP. It will work with your Android® or iOS® Smart phone. The 300 capacity version comes with 2 - RF wireless key fobs. The 900 capacity version comes with 1 - RF wireless M7 style remote. Scroll down for more details on the features/functionality.
Multi-Color RGBx: For RGBA LEDs, the GEN2 Combo RF + Bluetooth Wireless LED controller has a 900 LED capacity and comes with one RF wireless M7 style hand held remote. You can use your bluetooth enabled phone too. The GEN2 RGBx LED controller also includes our QUICK-SWITCH feature. Scroll down for details on these features and functionality.
GEN2 LED CONTROLLERS: RF + Bluetooth Combo Wireless Control
The LED Controllers offered in this kit are our GEN2 COMBO LED Controllers. COMBO means they can be operated using either the included RF wireless hand held remote OR your Bluetooth enable smart phone (and our free APP). Both will work. The RGB only version is capable of displaying 16 million different color combinations. The GEN2 RGBx version can display even more color combinations depending on the type of LED strips connected to them. In addition, lighting effects on the Bluetooth controller are significantly more controllable in terms of speed and intensity. Each color and lighting effect is controlled by "sliders" or a color square on your smart phone screen so you can adjust the speed and intensity to get the lighting the way you want it.

Quick-Switch Feature
The Quick Switch feature comes standard on our SUPER, HEAVY DUTY SINGLE ZONE and HD DUAL ZONE LED Controllers (all RGBx controllers). Whatever color LED you have connected to the WHITE output wire on the controller is the color that will display when the Quick Switch is triggered with 12vdc +. The most common use for this configuration is with commercial vehicles who want to be able to instantly turn off whatever color they're running and turn on a DOT compliant AMBER which is on our RGBA LED strips. For these installations, the yellow trigger wire is connected to a toggle switch or other wireless switch that activates the AMBER leds. When the Quick Switch trigger wire is not energized, the LED controller operates the RGBx diodes normally.

Other Items You May Need
No two installation scenarios are the same. Not everyone shares the same installation quality goals. Some folks are OK with twisting wires together, others want to solder them. Some folks are OK with running wires where they may be seen or unprotected to save money/time, others want a tidy, clean install without any wires showing. Some folks are OK with mounting their LED strips to whatever surface they can find, others want to take the time necessary to build out appropriate mounting surfaces to provide the best lighting effect on their vehicle. The point is it's not possible to provide all the materials necessary for all installation scenarios and quality goals. Our light kits provide the essential components needed for a high-quality, functioning lighting system. Installation of our light kit to your specific vehicle may however require additional items to make it look and fit the way you want. This is particularly the case with electrical wiring and mounting of LED strips. Before proceeding with your installation we suggest you consider THESE OTHER ITEMS.
Installation Tips
IMPORTANT. You must have an understanding of 12vdc power. An essential skill with installation of any Boogey Lights LED products is knowing how to correctly wire the product to a 12vdc circuit. This includes understanding the importance of having a properly sized fuse at the power source, polarity, how to properly seal an electrical connection, using properly sized wire gauge for the load, measuring voltage and measuring the additional amperage draw you're adding. If you are uncertain or unfamiliar with any of these concepts, we urge you to ask someone who has the knowledge to assist you. Electricity is unforgiving.

Typical Installation
While placement is ultimately up to you, this kit is designed to fit most ATVs as follows:
- One 15 LED Heavy Duty strip in each of the fender wells. We like to place them as far out on the fenders as we can so they shine inwards. Not all fenders are shaped this way though so your installation may vary.
- One 15 LED Heavy Duty strip under each foot rest. Its important to mount them in a location such that if the ATV is grounded, the strip isn't crushed.
- Two 9 LED low profile strips behind the grill area, typically in front of the radiator but protected by the grill.
- The LED controller is typically located in the battery compartment which in our demo Polaris Sportsman 550 is in the front. The LED strips mounted under the two rear fenders and the two under-carriage LED strips needed to have their power leads extended to reach the LED controller in the front battery compartment. The kit includes an extra 25 feet of power lead wire for this purpose. Your configuration may vary based on where you locate the LED controller.
The base LED kit is expandable to 300 LEDs so if you want to add more LED strips (or even LED light pods), the LED controller will handle the additional load. It really depends on how much light you want.
